I am loving New Look’s recent rebrand on the accessories and beauty front, are you?! I spend the majority of my shopping time picking up little bits and wondering if it’s worth buying. Fellow makeup snobs will understand me when I say I have a little ‘thing’ against high street clothing store makeup, I’m always a little apprehensive about the quality. But, I bit the bullet and bought 3 lip products the last time I popped in to the store. I’m not quite sure what swayed me, the pretty rose gold packaging or the very alluring low price tag…

After swatching my hand with various shades (and then forgetting and wiping my hand across my face) I settled on Dusty Pink Matte Lipstick, Nude Pink Super Matte Liquid Lipstick and Nude Lip Liner. These cost £3.99, £6.99 and £2.49 respectively. Not bad, if you ask me.

Dusty Pink Matte Lipstick | New Look | £3.99

OMG what a pretty shade! The perfect pinky-nude! This goes on and dries a bit more satin than I expected so I wouldn’t call it an all out matte but it’s definitely semi-matte and is honestly a gorgeous neutral shade. This lasted really well but would need reapplying after a meal or a few (too many) drinks. I really like the packaging of this as well, it’s a little bit Charlotte Tilbury-esque and will add a touch of glam to any make up bag.

Here I am wearing the nude liner and matte lipstick

Nude Pink Super Matte Liquid Lipstick | New Look | £5.99

This liquid lipstick applies really well and has a smooth, creamy consistency. As with any liquid lipstick, it feels slightly tacky but once it has dried (give it about 3-4 minutes) it is really lightweight and doesn’t feel at all. I really hate it when your lips feel sticky with product so this is a massive plus for me! This dries lighter in colour than expected. It goes on a bright, pale pink and dries down (or up) to a bright pink. It is much more on the pink than nude side and it is quite a neutral shade on me. I found that this lasted solidly throughout the day and I was actually really impressed with this liquid lippie for it’s long wear. I personally wouldn’t pick this colour again as it was quite draining on me (black hair and very pale skin means brights can make me look corpse-like) however I would definitely buy a darker shade.

Nude Lip Liner | New Look | £2.49

Well what a lovely liner this is! It is a very neutral peachy-nude shade and I found it a very appealing shade for a very pale skinned gal. I do also think this would suit a variety of skintones as it is not too cool or warm. The pencil glides on with minimal drag and lasts really well. An ideal liner and an absolute steal for £2.49. I will 100% be looking for more shades the next time I go shopping in New Look. I think this is probably my favourite of the 3 products I picked up just because it is so versatile.

Here is a swatch of the three lip products. L-R Liquid Lipstick, Matte Lipstick, Lip Liner

Overall, I have to say I was impressed! The colour of the liquid lipstick wasn’t quite right for me but it lasted so long without needing a top up that I would definitely be happy to try another colour. The nude liner is already a staple in my handbag and I was happy with the lipstick. I don’t know if I would rush to buy another one if I lost it or ran out but I could 100% grab another colour on my next New Look shopping trip.
